Aretha Greatrix is a member of Kashechewan First Nation but was born and raised in Edmonton, AB. Aretha is involved in a lot of activities including being a filmmaker. Aretha produced documentaries on residential schools, reconciliation, and the sixties scoop - she is a storyteller and uses her work to explore and educate people on Indigenous issues. Since the pandemic, Aretha began streaming online and as a new gamer, Aretha has explored the world of online content creation while incorporating her passion for building community, educating and bringing awareness to Indigenous Issues. In 2016, Aretha was nominated and won a Women of Inspiration, Cultural Ambassador Award recognizing her contribution to enriching the lives of others through visual, literary, performing arts, or broadcasting.
