Cecilia Araneda 

Cecilia Araneda came to Canada as a refugee as a child. She grew up in northern Manitoba and currently lives in Winnipeg. Araneda is internationally recognized for both her independent filmmaking and curatorial practices. She was additionally co-founder of the WNDX Festival of Moving Image and served as Executive Director of the Winnipeg Film Group / Winnipeg Cinematheque from 2006 to 2017. Araneda is currently leading a multi-year collective art project with Mujer Artista, a group of Latin women artists, and is Manager of the two-year Manitoba Digital Initiatives Program of the Art Gallery of Southwestern Manitoba.
