Tim Fontaine

Tim Fontaine is a journalist-turned-satirist, comedy writer and performer.

Born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, he is Anishinaabe and a member of the Sagkeeng First Nation but spent much of his childhood on the Hollow Water First Nation. As a reporter and producer he has worked for CBC Indigenous, CBC Manitoba, APTN National News and CPAC. In 2017, he left journalism and founded the satirical website Walking Eagle News.

As a comedy writer and performer he has since contributed to The Beaverton and CBC's Because News. He also produced and hosted two seasons of the comedy/news panel program The Laughing Drum on the Aboriginal People's Television Network (APTN).. In 2021/2022, he was a writer and story editor for both the upcoming Lido TV (CBC Gem) and Acting Good (CTV Comedy Channel).
