Jonathan Lawrence

Jonathan Lawrence is an indigenous, Winnipeg-based director/writer/actor whose works draw on a distillation of human vulnerability and brokenness amid visceral landscapes and the beauty therein.

A graduate of the University of Winnipeg Acting Honors Program, Jonathan appeared in several staged performances before producing his first film project, a feature film titled 'When the World Was Flat' in 2012. Following several screenings on the festival circuit the film garnered a series of accolades both nationally and internationally. In 2015, Jonathan shot his next film, a short drama 'Blackout' which he released the following year with the NSI Online Short Film Festival. Its festival run included various screenings in Canada and abroad, collecting several awards/nominations along the way. More recently, Jonathan has kept busy producing a proof-of-concept trailer for an upcoming fantasy-adventure project as well a short film titled 'Alter Boys' which he hopes to expand into an episodic series format. Jonathan is always busy building his acting resume, collaborating with fellow artists, and has numerous projects in development
