Picture
Tania Koenig-Gauchier is a Television Producer with more than 20 years of experience in broadcasting and independent production. She has worked as a producer for CTV, APTN and CBC, and has a background in business, marketing and promotions for television. Tania is very excited to be partnered with Great Pacific Television (Thunderbird Entertainment) as they mentor her in the development and licensing of content with Indigenous themes for mainstream broadcasters and streaming platforms.

Most recently, she spent five years in the position of Manager of Programming for the Western Region of APTN. Prior to this, Tania was the Owner/Operator of a consulting business (television production, communications and project management) for over 15 years. Her clients included: First Nations, government, Indigenous businesses and corporations.

In 2014, she completed the Ch’nook Indigenous Management Certificate Program at the UBC Sauder School of Business.

Tania’s passions are creating opportunities for emerging Indigenous talent in the television industry and telling authentic Indigenous stories and sharing them with the world. One of her favourite projects is a documentary that she produced for APTN on the cowboy subculture in Canada’s Indigenous community.

Tania is extremely proud of her Cree-Métis heritage which originates from Peavine Métis Settlement in Northern Alberta. She is also mother to two children whom are members of the Nisga’a Nation (Village of Laxgalts’ap) in northern BC.
